The National Honor Society is a nation-wide organization which recognizes high school juniors and seniors for achievement in scholarship, leadership, character and service. The students are chosen by a faculty committee on the basis of these four qualifications. Students are eligible for consideration if they have a 3.00 grade point average.

The society provides service to the school in many ways.

They traditionally assist the Red Cross in two annual blood drives.

They decorate the school at Christmas.

At the end of the school year, NHS juniors escort the seniors at graduation and serve as ushers.

Senior members receive a NHS cord to wear on their graduation gowns.

The induction ceremony for new members usually occurs in May when parents and friends are invited to attend
